Sri Vaishnava Seva Samiti is an association of Srivaishnavas of Chikkaballapur district, Karnataka. Its focal point is the Sri Prasanna Kesava Temple of Jathawara. The Samithi established with the objective of informing all the members about Vishishtadvaita - the Srivaishnava doctrine, the teachings of Bhagavad Sri Ramanujacharya, our tradition and the happenings between our Srivaishnava members. Samithi is carrying out all these with zeal.

There are many Srivaishnava families living in villages around Jathawara and the committee has been doing the work of uniting them all. Our seniors started this committee in 2008 and registered it. Several programs have been formulated and implemented, some of which are mentioned below.

Our Programs & Initiatives

  • Publishing a quarterly magazine "Prapathi" promoting our Srivaishnava Siddhanta
  • Sri Ramanuja Samudaya Bhavana was constructed in Jathawara to benefit the society
  • Scholarship for Students – Scholarship has been given to the children of members who have scored high marks in 10th class and second PU examination.
  • Many Sri Vaishnavites are married on a platform called "Kankana Siri" which is helping for those looking for a bride and groom.
  • Vamsha Vruksha and many books are being printed and published
  • Organized community Upakarma along with Sri Rampura residents and Amavasya tarpana program in Bengaluru
  • To promote art, Aadi Sangeetha - musical programs have been organised during the Aadi Masam.
  • Calendar Mathu Panchanga - We have been distributing calendars propagating our Srivaishnava Siddhanta every year and Panchanga to all the members
  • Jathawara Sri Prasanna Keshava Temple Brahmotsav to be conducted by Samithi from the next year on behalf of the temple's trust
  • This website brings information to the people at their fingertips
  • A huge task of digitizing our family tree Vamsha Vruksha has been taken. This leads to updating the current family tree.
  • Future plans include involving more youth into the Samithi through our youth wing, Yuvaikya. Preparations have been made to start Samithis, NRI Sub-division and also to implement several other programmes.
